Canadian Island - Florence

Once you have completed an onsite or online teaching certificate course with Teaching English in Italy consider applying for any of the following positions listed with Canadian Island in Florence.  Candidates must be native speakers of English and have experience working with children.

For this program, we recommend signing up for either the Onsite TESOL in Florence, the Online TESOL Certificate or the Online TESOL 1 + TEYL or TESOL 2 + TEYL courses.

1) Summer Camp Specialists
Every year Canadian Island hires about 15 summer Camp Specialists for the sleepover and day camp programs in June and July. Camp Specialists are hired based on their experience working with kids in camp settings in the areas of Music and Drama, Sports or Art. Camp Specialists work with Italian kids in 4 different campsites located in Tuscany. Summer Camp Specialists must be at least 20 years old. Fluency in Italian is not a requirement. There is no formal application for these positions. 2) English Teachers for Afternoon English Classes
Canadian Island hires about 5 teachers per year to conduct after-school English lessons. The ages of the students range from 3 to 14 years old. The children have different levels of English, from beginners to advanced. All of these teaching positions are part-time, from Monday to Thursday. There is no formal application for these positions. 3) Day Care Assistants
Day Care assistants work in the mornings from 8am – 1pm with toddlers and small children. Assistants must be native speakers of English and have experience working with kids in day care settings. There is no formal application for these positions.
