The London School

Once you have completed an onsite or online teaching certificate course with Teaching English in Italy consider working in Italy as an English language teacher during the summer months in the mountains of Northern Italy. The London School is interested in recruiting several mother tongue English teacher for summer courses that will take place in a hotel in the city of Folgaria, located in the province of Trento from June 12th - August 14, 2010.

For this program, we recommend signing up for either the Onsite TESOL in Florence, the  Online TESOL Certificate  or the Online TESOL 1 + TEYL or TESOL 2 + TEYL or TESOL 1 + TBE or TESOL 2 + TBE courses.

Teachers earn a salary of 300 euros (net) a week. Full board accommodation at the hotel is also included and paid for by London School. A teacher can stay for a minimum of two weeks and stay for a maximum of 9 weeks.  Wages are paid at the end of the contract.

Teachers are generally people who like working with children and/or adults, want to work in the field of education, and those who want to learn more about Italian culture through teaching English. Working as an English teacher with London School in Italy is also an excellent way to acquire more teaching experience with young learners before or after completing an online or onsite Teaching Certificate through Teaching English in Italy.

English teachers are required to organize courses so students can practice and learn English communicatively in a fun environment.  During the lessons, teachers use photo-copyable materials and linguistic games, which will be provided for all language proficiency levels. At the end of each week, a show for the parents where the children sing and act (in English) and dance will take place. The actual English courses take place from 9am – 12:30, but the teachers will be present in the afternoons participating in sports and other activities with students. In the evenings, dancing, films and games are organized and teachers are encouraged to arrange and help out with the kinds of activities that they are good at and enjoy. Teachers with young spirits are encouraged to apply; those who are ready to engage in activities with Italian children that make them feel happy, while, at the same time, teaching them a lot of English in an interesting and exciting way through games and songs. If you can play an instrument, dance and/or act, for example, these are the kinds of teachers that are desired. English must be spoken at all times by English teachers, during all events and other activities.

Unfortunately, the London School cannot help teachers obtain a visa if required (i.e., teachers coming from other continents) to work in Europe. Also, chosen applicants will need to pay for their journey to Italy and to the school.

The best teachers will be offered a contract at their main school in Rovereto from October 2010 to June 2011.
