Once you have completed an online or onsite teaching certificate course with Teaching English in Italy, immerse yourself in a fun English language immersion experience for Italian children in a multicultural environment for at least two weeks during the summer with Scotia Personnel, Ltd.
For this program, we recommend signing up for the Onsite TESOL in Florence, the Online TESOL Certificate course or either the TESOL 1 + TEYL or TESOL 2 + TEYL certificate course.
Camp counselors earn a stipend of 450 euros net per 2-week camp + full board and lodgings with local Italian families or bed and breakfast facilities. All travelling costs to and from Italy are the responsibility of the applicant.
Working as an English camp counselor in Italy is an excellent way to acquire more teaching experience with young learners before or after completing an online or onsite Teaching Certificate through Teaching English in Italy.
Camp counselors should be enthusiastic, motivated, reliable and have a positive attitude. The program focuses on stimulating English language through the use of interesting and fun methods such as games, sports, craft activities, art songs and drama. Your own creativity and ideas are an asset to make the Camps enjoyable for the children and yourself! Prior experience in drama, teaching, tutoring and camp settings are all beneficial. As a member of the camp staff, you must dress appropriately while on duty and a camp staff T-shirt will be provided. You must be responsible and attentive to the children at all times.
Applicants must be between the age of 20-35 by June 1st of the year in which they are applying and be:
. a native English speaker
. genuinely interested in working with and for children.
. energetic, creative, positive, flexible and have initiative.
. able to arrive in early June
It is not required to be able to speak Italian - However, it should be stated on the application if you do have any level of Italian language skill.
Applicants must attend compulsory 7-days unpaid training prior to the start of camp (begins June 7th) . During the training, food and accommodations are provided free of charge. The camp reserves the right after training to rescind the employment offer.
Camp dates are as follows: Compulsory training for all: June 7-12th
A. June 14th –June 26th
B. June 28th to July 10th
C. July 12th to July 24th
Please note – Camp counselors have the following options: 1) Camp session (A) only, plus attend the mandatory training starting June 7th; OR 2) All Camp sessions (A, B & C) plus attend the mandatory training starting June 7th. If applicants are interested in attending the B & C camps they must also work the A Camp.
Applicants must be flexible with regards to location preference as location cannot be guaranteed. Camp locations are available throughout Italy, from Rome northwards.
