This one-of-a-kind short course has been created for language and academic subject teachers who want to learn more about teaching an academic subject or topic in conjunction with a foreign language. It will show participants how to plan, prepare, and implement reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities using Science, History, Geography and Art as "content" and English as the "language" of instruction. This course can be booked at anytime during the year by private language schools or groups of teachers for a maximum of 10 course participants. Contact: sheila@teachingenglishinitaly.com to organize your specific course dates.
Course participants will:
1) Experience and design motivating classroom tasks while becoming an effective Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) teacher who engages learners in lessons that are collaborative and communicative.
2) Develop ease with using English as either a language or academic subject teacher and become confident with using materials created for and by native speakers of English in creative and interactive ways.
3) Learn how to create an interesting classroom environment where learning is fun and focused on very specific (and relevant) content which aims at reaching course objectives and language learning goals.
This course is open to both native and near native speakers of English. If you are a Weekend TEFL or Advanced TEFL graduate OR an already practicing teacher who has been teaching English and/or an academic subject in a foreign language, you'll love this course!

"As I have written above you are the type of the teacher students won't forget and I will take your lessons as the inspirational ones. You showed us the various activities that can be done with the students to make them interested in the topic. And I will keep them in my mind and definitely use them in my lessons. And finally, I have to emphasize your kind and enthusiastic personality. You were really into the teaching and you got our attention in the best way - to simply enjoy the lessons and above all you make us learn something :) So, thank you for that - for everything. I will never forget."
