This course is ideal: This course is ideal: 1) if you’re new to the profession and seek all-round capability to teach both general and business English; 2) if you’d like to gain an ‘edge’ in employment, particularly if considering teaching in countries where Business English is growing in importance; 3) if you’d prefer at least some of your teaching to be to adults, small groups or 1-1; 4) if you’re already teaching but would like an accredited TEFL certificate with an emphasize in Teaching Business English to formalize your experience; 5) You've less time to commit to a longer course.

COURSE OVERVIEW AND DETAILS

This level 1 TESOL with Business English course typically takes between 1-3 months to complete. However, many students are balancing work/life commitments, so up to 6 months is allowed for course completion.

The course is graded by continuous assessment. There are short tasks and in-depth activities throughout the course with exam questions at the end of each module. A qualified EFL tutor will mark your answers and is available if you require any further help. You will be awarded an ACTDEC Preliminary Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL upon successful completion and a GE TEYL certificate.

COURSE ELIGIBILITY

Open to all native and non-native English speakers with good written and spoken English. Applications are welcomed from people whose first language is not English. However, non-native speakers should possess a high standard of both written and spoken English. As a general guide, if you have English to one of the following international exam levels then you should be successful:

- IELTS 6.5 or above  - TOEFL iBT 110 or above - TOEIC 880 or above - CEF C1 - pass at Cambridge CAE (Certificate in Advanced English).   While applicants are not tested on their level of English, should submitted work contain a significant number of errors and understanding is impeded, it will be passed back to the student for re-working until it is of an acceptable level. Marks are deducted for poor use of English in responses.
