This course is ideal: 1) if you know some of your teaching is likely to be to the 3-15 age group; 2) if you’re new to the profession but want to gain a thorough grounding in TESOL; 3) if you wish to start a new life and teach English abroad; 4) if you’re already teaching but would like an accredited TEFL certificate to formalize your experience.
COURSE OVERVIEW AND DETAILS
This level 2 TESOL with TEYL course typically takes between 2-6 months to complete. However, many students are balancing work/life commitments, so up to 18 months is allowed for course completion.
The course is graded by continuous assessment. There are short tasks and in-depth activities throughout the course with exam questions at the end of each module. A qualified EFL tutor will mark your answers and is available if you require any further help. Your final award is graded on the following scale: A, B or Pass and this is shown on your TESOL with TEYL certificate and your written assessment, which acts as a reference. You will also be awarded an ACTDEC level 2 Certificate of Educational studies in TESOL.
COURSE ELIGIBILITY
Open to all native and non-native English speakers with good written and spoken English. Applications are welcomed from people whose first language is not English. However, non-native speakers should possess a high standard of both written and spoken English. As a general guide, if you have English to one of the following international exam levels then you should be successful:
- IELTS 6.5 or above - TOEFL iBT 110 or above - TOEIC 880 or above - CEF C1 - pass at Cambridge CAE (Certificate in Advanced English). While applicants are not tested on their level of English, should submitted work contain a significant number of errors and understanding is impeded, it will be passed back to the student for re-working until it is of an acceptable level. Marks are deducted for poor use of English in responses.
